Tom Millikin P.A.

Tom Millikin joined the University Orthopaedics team in 2010 as the PA assisting doctor Branch in clinic and surgery. Tom is a valuable asset to the practice with his extensive experience in the field of orthopedics.

Tom Millikin is a retired military officer who served 21+ years on AD service in the U.S. Army travelling the globe.  One of the highlights of Toms’ military career was his assignment to the White House Medical Unit in Washington, D.C. where he served as a Physician Assistant  responsible for providing direct medical and emergency care to both the President and Vice President of the United States and their families.  Additionally, Tom was responsible for directing, coordinating and advancing medical facilities for “the principals” travel, working in concert with the US Secret Service, Joint Military Services and various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

Upon retirement in 1994, he moved to Atlanta and began working in the private orthopedic surgical practice setting as a Certified Physician Assistant in Orthopaedic Surgery. Despite having grown up in Central Virginia, he and his family which includes four grandchildren, have now made Georgia their home and considers this his final “permanent assignment.”

Tom loves to spend time with his family, particularly the grand kids and enjoys outdoor activities such as the game of golf. He feels that he is one of the most fortunate individuals on the planet, having had the great privilege and honor  to have served in two of the most distinguished and time-honored professions ever; that of a professional soldier serving God and country and a health care professional providing care for those in need.  “I love this profession and look forward to coming to work every day – true story” he writes.
